Will hosting your blog on HubSpot hurt your main site’s SEO?
HubSpot is a powerful tool for nearly every level of your inbound marketing and lead generation strategy. This also includes support for blogging and landing pages.
The question is, because your HubSpot blog is managed on their platform and not through your site’s CMS, does that mean your main site’s SEO can take a ranking hit? Aren’t you running two websites here and essentially competing with yourself?
When configured correctly in your settings, your HubSpot blog will not have a negative impact on your SEO.
In fact, your HubSpot blog can be a very valuable tactic for SEO strategy.
Choosing to use or keep your blog on HubSpot essentially comes down to what’s best for your blogging needs.
Not sure? Ask yourself these questions:
- Does HubSpot provide the tools I need for my blog?
- Am I leveraging tools like HubSpot CTAs, subscription management, and lead generation?
- Is my HubSpot blog URL using a subdomain or directory off of my primary domain?
- Am I connecting my blog to my main site with links and calls to action (and vice versa)?
If your answers for each of these are ‘yes’, then you’re good to go!
But remember, everything may be hooked up correctly under the hood, but it can all mean bupkis if you’re not producing killer content.
